WHAT'S BETTER THAN HAVING ONE PROJECT CLASSIC CAR? HOW ABOUT ADDING A PATINA 2ND GEN C10TO THE COLLECTION?
Long time classic car enthusiast, Manuel “Manny” Llamas, has owned many gems over the years, but has never owned a proper vintage truck until he acquired his 1968 Chevrolet C10 Stepside last year. Just like his immaculate 1972 Chevelle, his C10 has a plethora of modifications done to it inside and out. While scrolling through his Instagram feed, he saw this restored C10 for sale and immediately knew he just had to have it and flew out to Tucson, Arizona to buy it and had it shipped out to him in SoCal.
For many C10 owners, there are usually two different routes to take when it comes down to the paint – go with a full-blown paint job or go with the patina look. One of the reasons why Manny picked up this particular C10 beside it being a turn-key resto truck was the exterior patina on the paint. To preserve the look, he had the entire exterior clear coated and wow does the patina pop, especially in the daytime.
Manny’s C10 is powered by a BluePrint 383SBC motor with FiTech engine management and fuel delivery while the fully built T400 transmission with RED clutches help put all the power down to the rear wheels. The sweet side exit exhaust system was custom fabricated by Ralph’s Muffler. The front suspension setup is courtesy of Classic Performance Parts while the rear 4-link is from Jason Thornbecke. Air ride suspension is taken care by Accuair.
The interior features custom carpet, center console, fully painted cabin, Dakota Digital gauges, and a JBL audio system. What didn’t come with the truck when Manny took ownership was new headlights and front parking lights, which have been switched out for LED units by UPcarparts. To finish up the exterior, the beaten and battered OEM front bumper was also replaced by a fresh chrome one again by UPcarparts.
With the C10 dialed in just the way that he wants it, Manny’s been enjoying cruising around town and hitting up local car meets and shows in his beloved truck. We don’t know what his next project will be, but one thing for sure is that it will be UPcarparts equipped!
